ABELÉ 1757, The Boutique Maison
Founded in 1757, Abelé is one of the oldest Champagne Maisons. Fifth in order of establishment, it has preserved the spirit of its pioneers: to create exceptional Champagne. Each vintage is produced in very limited quantities, to ensure the highest possible quality. Abelé 1757 has crossed the centuries with its gaze fixed on the future, guided by an artisanal spirit that has shaped its vision and savoir-faire for over 250 years. Each cuvée is conceived as a true work of art, an expression of a winemaking tradition handed down from generation to generation.

The cellars, a priceless treasure
Since 1880, the Maison’s historic address has been located at 50 rue de Sillery, in Reims. Twenty meters underground lies a two-kilometre labyrinth of galleries, hand-dug into the chalk, the typical limestone rock of Champagne. This extraordinary underground heritage – around thirty galleries connected by a long corridor – offers ideal conditions for bottle ageing and preservation: total darkness, constant temperature, controlled humidity. A true natural laboratory that, year after year, becomes a creative atelier.

The Collection of Terroirs
For Abelé 1757, creating Champagne first and foremost means cultivating the art of blending, starting from the selection of the most expressive terroirs. The Maison works only with plots that possess strong aromatic potential, thanks to solid relationships with a small circle of artisan winegrowers, deeply rooted in their land. From this connection are born precise, unique blends, crafted to stand the test of time.

The Subtle Art of Blending
The Abelé 1757 style is clear: tailor-made Champagne, aged for long periods, with Chardonnay as the absolute protagonist. Every detail is cared for from the harvest onward, with a rigorous selection of the grapes. Production is deliberately limited, to preserve the quality and identity of each cuvée. The range, essential yet coherent, revolves around two key references: Abelé 1757 Brut and Le Sourire de Reims, both symbols of the Maison’s excellence.

The Style: Time to Compose
Time is both ally and master. Abelé 1757 listens to it, follows it, embraces it. Thanks to its artisanal savoir-faire, the Maison shapes the raw material with elegance, transforming each vintage into an olfactory and gustatory symphony. Fruity and floral fragrances merge with power and finesse, revealing a refined, luminous, and precise style. It is the echo of a pursuit of excellence that spans the centuries.

A Rebirth with a New Signature
After joining the Terroirs et Vignerons de Champagne (TEVC) family in 2019, a process of redefining the range began: greater clarity, coherence, and a renewed focus on the identity traits of the boutique Maison, now led by an exceptional duo: Marie Gicquel, General Manager, and Étienne Eteneau, Chef de Cave, both appointed in 2019.
“It took time to understand what we had in the cellar, the typicity of our wines,” says Marie Gicquel. “After rethinking our brand platform in 2020, we officially launched the new Abelé 1757 identity. Étienne rethought every wine, bringing significant improvements.”
The new non-vintage Rosé is its perfect expression: elegant, precise, contemporary.

A Rosé That Looks to the Future
Étienne Eteneau, Chef de Cave at Abelé 1757, reinterprets Rosé Champagne and introduces a new blend that expresses the two pillars of the Maison: Chardonnay, the emblematic grape of the house, and Pinot Noir from Les Riceys. The uniqueness of this cuvée lies in an equal-part assemblage: 50% Chardonnay sourced from the Maison’s historic terroirs – Côte des Blancs, Vitryat, and Sézannais – selected for their freshness and tension, and 50% Pinot Noir harvested on the slopes of Les Riceys, in the Côte des Bar, from a winegrowing family linked to Abelé 1757 for over fifteen years. A deep bond with one of the symbolic villages of southern Champagne, vinified as a red wine through maceration.
With this new non-vintage Rosé, Abelé 1757 breaks away from the classic composition of previous versions (90% Chardonnay + 10% red wine) to affirm a more authentic vision, rooted in the Maison’s style. A radical shift, based on a new and more identity-driven balance. Another key evolution: the share of reserve wine, now raised to 30%, and a prolonged ageing period, from three to four years, in the chalk-carved cellars. A choice that brings complexity and harmony to the cuvée.
The aesthetic appearance is also renewed: the Maison adopts a bottle with pronounced shoulders, elegant and contemporary, inspired by the silhouette of Le Sourire de Reims. A stylistic choice that reflects the Maison’s modern élan, without renouncing its heritage.
These transformations, conceived as true elevations, project Maison Abelé 1757 into a new dimension, balancing artisanal heritage and contemporary vision.

  • Blend: 50% Pinot Noir from Les Riceys (vinified by maceration) and 50% Chardonnay from the 2019 harvest, with the addition of 30% reserve wines
  •  Ageing: 4 years on the lees in the Maison’s historic cellars
  •  Disgorgement: End of 2024

Brilliant pale pink in colour, with refined and seductive tones. The profile is fresh and delicate, dominated by floral components – rose petals – and citrus aromas of mandarin, which blend with elegant menthol notes and sweet spices, with a hint of white pepper. This is followed by aromas of small red fruits: raspberry, wild strawberry, and redcurrant. Everything is expressed with precision and harmony, in a feminine and composed style, focused more on elegance than power.
The entry on the palate is soft and velvety, confirming the citrus notes perceived on the nose, and develops with freshness and roundness, supported by a very fine effervescence. The mid-palate reveals beautiful salinity, while the lively, mouth-watering finish closes on a well-calibrated acidic touch. The minerality is discreet yet clear, offering depth and tension to the sip. Delicate toasted notes enrich the enveloping finish.
A cuvée that is elegant and sensual, embodying the refined style and artisanal savoir-faire of Maison Abelé 1757. It is the perfect balance between the Maison’s emblematic Chardonnay and the Pinot Noir harvested from the historic vineyards of Les Riceys, vinified by maceration.
A fresh Champagne, capable of seducing the most romantic palates thanks to its balance of finesse, freshness, and complexity.

A sharp and precise profile, built around ripe white fruit reminiscent of green apple, pear, peach, and papaya, accompanied by lively citrus notes such as lemon and lime. In the background, subtle spicy notes emerge – including star anise – adding depth to the bouquet. The Chardonnay expresses a beautiful freshness, supported by a full and soft structure that brings breadth and roundness to the palate. The effervescence is fine and well-integrated.
Minerality appears in the finish, with vertical tension and a saline, citrusy echo. The finish is long, precise, and fresh, with a touch of acidity that lends energy and balance.
